Windshield Repair
In a crash, broken windshield glass adheres to the PVB (Polyvinyl butyral) layer rather than flying around the passenger compartment. The PVB (Polyvinyl butyral) layer also acts as a safety net to keep passengers inside the vehicle where they are less likely to be injured during crash situations. Windscreen repair is a cheap but proven alternative to replacing damaged windscreens. A windscreen repair is accomplished by injecting a specially formulated liquid resin into the damaged area. The resin is then cured with UV light to make a structural bond with the glass. The glass is then scraped flat and polished to restore structural strength and clarity.
